Qodsna, Mohammad Shahedi:
US President Donald Trump who says to be pursuing a motto of ‘America first’ has adopted such positions concerning Israel which virtually act as a green light to the radical and racist policies of the latter.
Trump vowed to transfer the US embassy from Tel Aviv to the occupied al-Quds (‘Jerusalem’) once and for all.
He also lent the extent of support to Israel during his campaign and afterwards that Israel was further emboldened to expand its settlement, namely by starting to issue orders for the construction of over 7100 units in the occupied al-Quds.
The US president has on several occasions announced that he would make the US allies in the Middle East to pay for the US military support to those states however it has vowed to give unconfined support to Israel, including military aid.
He however says he would seek to mediate a ‘direct’ peace talk between Israel and Palestinians and would remain ‘neutral’ during the process. He however said during election campaign that Palestinians would no longer have any tribune in the UN once he becomes president
Trump has already lauded Israel as ‘a ray of hope’ for humanity.
Like his predecessors, Trump seeks to speed ahead in supporting the strategic US ally, Israel. And, Israel for its part will pursue its expansionist policies as a survival strategy, namely through the expulsion of Palestinians from their houses on the inside and the project of absorbing allies on the outside. The project that involves Israeli efforts to clear its position as a regional enemy has already recruited Turkey, Saudi and a few other Arab states.
